Life Sized Portrait

Life sized portrait of myself

54″ x 48″

Soft Pastels

I completed this piece from my final while taking a Human Figure drawing class. If you take a closer look, you’ll see that there are 6 different pieces of paper (3×2).

Each individual paper is 18″ x 24″!

This was my second project attempting a life sized portrait as well as my second attempt at really diving into using soft pastels. The project took around 1-2 days to complete!

That was due to procrastination… good ol’ procrastination.

The Day After Tomorrow

I had the amazing opportunity to feature this piece alongside my art teacher, Ray Cooper, at Art at the Cave in Vancouver, WA. The show, The Day After Tomorrow, focused on mentorship and featured work from students and teachers at Clark College. There was also an artist talk during the event, where we got to hear more about the different pieces in the gallery. Even though I wasn’t totally sure what to say at first, I took the chance to talk about my own work—which ended up being a really rewarding experience.
